Icons

Paul

I downloaded a load of themes recently and soon deleted
them (they were all naff). However I cannot get my
original Windows icons back for things like Recycle Bin
and all of my folders - they all remain as the icons for
the last theme I tried, even though all (I presume) trace
of it has been uninstalled. Can anyone help me get my
original icons back?

Thanks in advance.

To change back to your default Windows icons, do this:

1. Right-click Desktop and go to Properties.
2. On the Desktop tab, click Customize Desktop.
3. Select each icon you want to reset and click Restore Default.
4. Click OK when done.

Thanks, I've done what you said but the icons are still unchanged. I'm assuming that the theme in question has saved over the originals (so that Windows thinks these new icons are the originals). What else would you suggest?

To refresh the icons in the system change the size of icons in Start - Control Panel - Display - Appearance - Advanced, click apply then change the size back.

Similar situation, however, my Run and Search icons on my Start Menu are the
default file icon. Any ideas how to fix?
