icon resolution

XP Home Edition on Acer notebook. I fiddled arount with the screen resolution
and the video card settings in order to get my computer to show on TV as
secondary monitor (not so easy or logical, but it works). I then put
everything back the way it was (only one monitor, 1024X768, 32 bit color),
and icons are fine on the desktop BUT the icons are fuzzy (lower resolution?)
on the taskbar and also in regedit. Switching screen setting and coming back
to normal does not change the situtation. Could you please advise on how I
can get the high resolution icons back? Thanks so much.

Dear Friends,

I posted this question a week ago, and no replies from you. Could someone
with knowledge of the XP icon display mechanism try to help me? It is very
strange that only the task bar icons and the folder icons in regedit have
been corrupted (not the icons on the main desktop, nor the folder icons in
Windows Explorer). Sorry to remind, but this problem seems interesting and
challenging as well as being a bit annoying for me. Thanks, John-pleasehelp
