icon not associating with new association

How do I get Windows XP to change the new icon with the
new association I applied in file types dialog box. I
originally had the jpegs set up to open with Window's
picture viewer. I downloaded the new Netscape and it
changed the system to be the default viewer for jpegs. I
changed the association back to the Win's picture viewer
however, I can not get the icons to change from Netscape
to Win picture viewer again. How do I change the icons
back? Please can someone advise.
