icon name color

When I first setup with Windows XP, the background color
of the file name under the icon is transparent. But now I
don't know what setting on the desktop I had changed, the
icon's names are all with color background. That
background color can be changed under Control Panel-
Display-Appearance-Item:Desktop-Color. How can I switch
it back to transparent again, so my desktop look better?
Can anyone help?

Wilson--

If you had that setting originally, I'm not sure what it was (and would like
to know) because I don't see it hitting the Advanced Button on the
Appearance tab of the Display Properties dialogue box you're ferencing
whether you get there on a desktop right click or via Control Panel. I do
see a choice of colors. One easy way to get it is a free download here
*Iconoid Version 3.0*>(In the Demo at the link)Mouseover Colors>Transparent:

http://www.sillysot.com/

or using Transtext 1.0 orTransparent Desktop 1.0 (free downloads) here

I'm not aware of a regedit for this, but you might be able to figure out a
value at

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics Reg _SZ Value Name
IconTitleWrap

You might also be able to create your own icons with a tutorial like
