ICF prevents Xp from seeing Win 98 shared folders

D

David C. Jordan

I have 3 XP machines that access a Win98 P2P computer for
sharing Word & Excel files. If I turn ON ICF, upon boot,
NONE of them can read the shared folders on the Win98
machine. As soon as I turn it OFF, the XP's can see the
Win98.

Right now I am booting with ICF OFF, then IMMEDIATELY
turning it ON while working THEN turning it OFF upon
shutdown - kind of a pain.

It appears one of the machine (XP's) have a trojan - if I
don't turn ICF ON - sooner or later of network crashes as
soon as the trojan hijacks the internet connection.

So, how do I get XP ICF to work with a Win98 file sharing
machine?

THANKS!

You need to config ICF to allow port 445. The article should help.
