ICF and FTP

When using XP's Internet Connection Firewall I have
noticed that when ICF is enable I cannot connect to an
FTP Site that I have rights to but when I disable the ICF
I can successfuly connect to it. Is there a way to
configure the ICF so that I can leave it connected and be
able to connect to my ftp sites.

Thanks

Open the properties window for the ICF and click on the
button for Settings, here you can check the box for FTP,
and whatever else you want. Click OK out of each window.
Now you should be able to access the FTP site.

Actually, I don't believe the setting in the ICF UI will work. That setting
is meant to open a hole for external users to connect to your ftp server.
Using your ftp client to connect to someone elses ftp server should work
automagically via the ALG service. Check to see if ALG is running in task
manager. Also, what ftp client are you using, and do you know if you're
connecting with active or passive mode ftp?

Thanks for the info. It seems to work when I changed the ALG from manual to
automatic.
