I want mail moved into folders to move out inbox not greyed out

When I move email from the inbox into the folders I created under the inbox
then the emails become greyed out and strikethrough in the inbox, but I do
not want it to appear at all in the inbox after I moved it. Why is it still
there but greyed out and strikethrough. How can I get them to dissapear after
I move them?

Running an IMAP account? Choose Edit-> Purge Deleted Items
