I used to be able to burn CD's, but now...

I can't. I think the problem started when I deleted some spyware, but I'm not
sure. When I put a blank CD in to burn on, it spits it back out, and tells me
"please insert blank disc". I know the discs are blank!! I just opened the
package. I have tried several others too, and nothing. Diagnostics says
everything is fine. I did a system restore-didn't work. Someone please help
me!!

Read it and tried it already. No go. I'm thinking it may have something to do
with an update or something...

I forgot to ask in my first response, what app are you using to
burn a CD? Do you have Nero, MusicMatch or Roxio? Are you using the native
WindowsXP or some other app? Here's a free one to try, you can always
uninstall it if you don't like it. But, it sounds more like a burner problem.

Well I got the Media Center, so it came with all kinds of differen't software
(sonic, Media Player, and others), it came with yahoo jukebox too, but I
deleted it just yesterday. It wouldn't burn from there either. If it is my
burner, then why was I able to burn a dvd today? I just know it is some minor
detail.

I'm having a samiliar problem. I use to be able to download music and burn
CDs, every so often I would get the error message telling me to insert a
blank disc. I knew the disc where blank because I went out and bought a new
pack and I made sure they had the music logo on the pack. Now I'm only able
to burn about 3 songs on a CD. I add 18 to the burn list, but only 3
actually burn before the computer spits the disc out and give me the error.
I don't know what the problem is. I thought too this has something to do
with an update. If you should find out what your problem is please let me
know.

Thanks,
