Hello.
I should like to know whether there is any good that comes from changing the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory
Management\IoPageLockLimit in Windows XP.
Both X-Teq's X-Setup and SpeedXP (two tweaking tools I use), have an adjustment
and a recommended value for this setting (depending on the installed RAM). But
I have read differing advice about this.
I have read that it should be set as close to 1/4th of the total installed
System RAM (in 128-byte increments) as possible. I have read that it should be
set to certain specific MB values according to how much free RAM shows in the
Performance Monitor. I have read that Windows XP absolutely does not heed this
setting if it is found in the Registry.
So, I am hoping to find out which information is the correct information.
Are there any savvy folks who know?
Thanks for any info you might provide.
