I need to replace my Canon S630, but with what?

Melissa

My Canon S630 has just quit on me, This printer has been a real
workhorse. I am sad to see it go.

I would like to replace it with something comparable and maybe even
better, I would like to stick with Canon, but would consider other
brands.
I am a graphic designer, so color and text are important to me.

I need to be able to print on card/cover stock as well.
I print photos occaisionally
Ink replacement must be comparable - $45-50.00 for full replacement of
ink cartridges.
I probably replace the ink tanks 2 - 3x a year.
I just bought a Canon scanner, so I have no problems with Canon.
I want to spend around $200.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

The IP4200 may be best but if you want to print photos faster then go
for the IP5200.

I had to lookup that model as it's in my canon memory blindspot.

If you buy a new canon, expect to spend more for ink. The s630 took
for cartridges averaging about 11 each, the new canons take 5
cartridges averaging about $14 each, on a good day. The extra
cartridge is a dye black which tends to get used at a lower ratio than
the others, 3:1 based on my experence with the mp760, it gets used ONLY
when you select something other than plain paper. In one way there is
savings over what you were using as it used three inks to make black
unless you selected plain paper.

My ip5200 experence has been more than pleasent. Huge leap from the
ip3000. I can only speak for the 69lb costco paper, I generally don't
do true blue card sock.

Canon Pixma ip4200. The ink costs (for OEM) are slightly higher.
