Is the border on the plot area, or do you mean the border on each of the pie
slices?

Basically, you need to double-click to open the chart, select whatever has
the border on it (if it's the plot area, it may be hard to select, so use
the drop down list box on the toolbar), and go to Format-->Selected
Whatever, and select "none" in the Lines section.

You can also double-click the chart part to open the Format dialog box or
right-click and choose Format, but again, some parts are harder to select
and double-click or right-click than others.

Melanie,
What Echo and Jean-Pierre said, also just click on the border and press
delete, has worked for me since PPT 97.

Melanie,
Strange, works fine here, be it clicking on the plot area border and
pressing delete or right clicking on it and choosing clear.
