I keep losing my connection to the Internet

I keep losing my connection to the Internet. This has only been
happening since the last automatic update that took place this week. I
have two computers (one XP and one Vista) connected via a router, and
only my XP computer loses the connection. Has anyone else had this
problem since the update? Any suggestions? It's driving me crazy. It
seems to happen only when I'm using my browser (IE7).

Are you using Zone Alarm? If so they have an update to it that will
fix you. Just download and install.

I've had the same problem on a number of occasions and not due to any type
of Windows updates but to damage caused from removing Internet applications,
malicious applications or malware.

This is what I do to fix the Internet connection:
Delete Temporary Internet Files and cookies from the Control Panel\Internet
Options\General tab; next go to the Programs tab\and click on "Restore Web
Configuration". Next Install XP TCP/IP Repair and run the TCP/IP Protocol
repair and restart the computer. If the problem persists, also repair the
Winsock with the same application...

If the problem still persists, disable Startup programs from; Start
Button\Run\type; "msconfig" (no quotes) and hit Enter... go to the Startup
tab\uncheck programs except for Office and the antivirus, Apply and exit.
Next clean/disinfect your system with applications like; "A Squared Free",
"Malwarebytes Anti-Malware", "Spyware Terminator", "Super Antispyware" or
"Windows Defender".
