I have no new emails, yet the display lists one new email

there are no new/unread emails in the folder, yet there is (1) listed next to
the folder indicating one new/unread message. How can I make the (1) go away?
This just started this week. I have scrolled through all emails, found none
new. Also highlighted all emails, and marked as unread, then marked as read
and it still lists (1) new email.....
Please help!

....if this is Outlook 2003, and on a WinXP pc, add Outlook to the firewall
exceptions list. Mine use to do the same thing till I added it ...
