I have no Administrator user

W

Walter Donavan

When I rebuilt the system a couple of days ago, I inadvertently (don't know
how) created the user "NAME" as the administrator, and there is no
administrator user under Documents and Settings.

If I remove the user NAME, will the user Administrator magically show up?
Will I lock myself out of my computer?

Any help would be appreciated.

Navigate to:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

Click on the subkey that ends w/ 500. That is the profile of the built
in Administrator account, regardless of what it's called.

I performed just the same months ago. I´ve corrected the Administrator name
to administrator. Next I created a User under my name and used the grouping
posibility to build a new "Administrators" group which included me as a user
with all rights.
A bit complicated but fair.
