I have lost my text cursor, how do I get it back?

Somehow, I have lost some of my defaults, I re-installed software with disc,
but this didn't solve the problem. One thing that is very inconvenient is...
I have lost my cursor... how can I get it back. I know it's something
simple, but I can't seem to figure it out.

It may just be very small. Switch to 500% Zoom and back.
