I have 2 questions

When I switch on my computer the normal desktop appears with my shortcut
icons. Shortly after a window appears, called desktop system folder
containing the same desktops items. This has only just started to happen.
It is easy to get rid of but is a nuisance. How do I stop it happening
please?

I have a couple of programmes on my computer, that I know are definately
there. I cannot access them either by shortcut icon or using Start -
Programme option

Hi,

For the folder - i'm willing to bet you have a shortcut somehow in your
startup folder of your start-menu. If this is the case, remove this and the
folder should stop opening then. If you don't then it's possible it's being
launched by some other method. Download AutoRuns
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx which will
show you what is set to auto-run on your machine. Be carefull with the tool
and make sure you know what your removing if you remove anything.

If you have programs which are there, but don't have any shortcuts just
create some. Right-click on your desktop, choose New Shortcut, find the
program and bingo - you can now access them through shortcuts.

Hope this helps, let us know if you need anything else.

Regards,
Jon
