Thank you so very much for your help Ron! Sorry I am slow at this, your
directions are great! I now get it:) At some point I hope to get it all
working. Right now some real life stuff has come up, so it is on hold. But,
I have saved all the info and can't express how much I appreciate your help.

If you get the warning before you publish to the web, ignore it. The
form will not work from your PC - it must be published.
The email address (e-mail address removed) on your site may fail. Try it and
see.

Some hosts will only allow emails to be sent to an account in the same
domain as the website.
Placing an email address in a forum such as this is an invitation to
spammers to send a considerable amount of junk emails.

Bearing in mind the above, I gave an example of an email address
([email protected])
When you fill in the form properties, do not use (e-mail address removed),
instead use an email address with domain rlblair.com

For example-
If the domain were hotmail.com, and there is an email account set up
as (e-mail address removed),
then replace user with ronx917, and example with hotmail so you get
(e-mail address removed)

[[email protected] has been set up to delete each and every email
sent there - so I am not worried about spam sent to that address.]

HI Ron,
ok, I think I got all of your instructions, except I just dont see
this-
replace user with an account at rlblair.com, and replace example
with
rlblair.

I have File name: _private/results.txt
email address: I put our actual email address that I have posted on
my site,
is that what you mean?

Then there is send to database, and send to other, neither button is
checked, is this correct?

Then theres form name, and under that target frame. Both blank.

I just dont see this place- replace user with an account at
rlblair.com, and
replace example with
rlblair.

Thanks!

The form is missing a chunk of code that tells the FPextensions how
to
deal with the form data. The code will resemble this:

<!--webbot bot="SaveResults" startspan
U-File="_private/guestlog.htm"
S-Format="HTML/DL" S-Label-Fields="FALSE"
B-Reverse-Chronology="TRUE"
S-Builtin-Fields --><input TYPE="hidden" NAME="VTI-GROUP"
VALUE="0"><!--webbot bot="SaveResults" endspan
i-checksum="43374" -->

The above is taken from one of my forms, and will not be the same
as
yours.
Open the web in FrontPage, then the contact_us.htm page.
Right click anywhere in the form and fill in the fields -
particularly
File name and email address. The file name is where a copy of the
form data will be stored in your web site, and MUST be in the
_private
folder - I suggest _private/results.txt
The email address may have to be in the form (e-mail address removed),
replace user with an account at rlblair.com, and replace example
with
rlblair. It may not work with other domains.
Click Options button, and on the saved fields tag make sure that
all
the form fields are listed, any missing will not be processed.
Click OK, Click OK
There are other bits to fill in, but this will get you going.
If you are using any HTML optimisation when publishing, don't.
Optimisation can cause failures in unexpected ways.

When I submit the form on my website, the page that comes up says
"Cannot run
the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page:

:

Nortbots:
You should only get the
onSubmit="location.href='_derived/nortbots.htm' in
disc based webs or in online webs that have not been
published using FP http mode to a server running the FP SE

FYI
the nortbots stand for NORunTimewebBOTS
- meaning the action is not server based as a run time webbot
tool

And, doesnt my email address need to be in there somewhere, in
the code I
mean? Btw, did I tell you how absolutely fabulous it is!!!!

:

Ok, I redid it, and it still had the same icon, but I put it
up
again on
my
host, I called my host, and he said that it is going into a
file
that I
dont
have, called _derived/nortbots.htm. He said this file is not
on
my
server.

:

Yes, it should.
I think I found the problem.

The "Submit Inquiry" button refers to (e-mail address removed).
This is wrong.

Replace it with the following code and it should be ok.

*************code***********

Please contact me as soon as possible regarding this
inquiry.</dd>
</dl>
<p><a title="Submit Inquiry"</a>
<input type="submit"
value="Submit Inquiry"></a>
************end code**********

This wil remove the" href" from the "submit inquiry"
button.
It is a server issue that I should have thought of.

Let me know.

Is the icon in my folder supposed to look like the rest
with
the big
blue
round e?

:

Check to see that your contact_us.htm (the one with the
paper and
arrow) has an htm extension.
That sounds like your problem.

Let me know.

WOW!!! WOW!!! It is soooo cool!!! Ok, I did as you
said, put it
in
Notepad, and it loooked great, (I changed the sixe of
the
buttons
to 3, and
RL Blair at the top to New Roman, thats all) and put
it
up in my
host. But
I got a HTTP 404 - File not found
Internet Explorer when I tried it out as if I were a
customer
emailing thru
the form.

So, I figured I did something wrong, (I am good at
that)
because
when I
saved it from notepad, the icon for contact_us.htm in
my
folder
didnt have
the big round E, it has a paper with an arrow at the
top
left icon.
So, I
created a new normal page, and saved it as a web page
contact_us,
and still
the same icon. So, I reinstalled it to my host, but
still
the same
HTTP 404
- File not found page comes up.

Is it my changes? I know I must have done something
wrong. I am
so blown
away that you did this, it is sooo cool!!! Thank you
!!!!!!!

:

Here is the code for a new "contact_us.htm" page.
It is a form instead of a what you have now.

I tested it in IE7; Firefox; Netscape 8.1 and Opera.
All look fine as well as your entire site in those
browers.

I "left alligned" the page on purpose, allowing the
page
to be
printer
friendly in case a guest wants to do that.

Test it out. If it meets your needs, you are welcome
to
it.

To install:
Cut the code from here and paste it into Notepad or
whatever.
Save as "contact_us.htm.
Rename your current contact_us.htm, to,
contact_us.old.
(This is in case you think the replacement doesn't
meet
your
needs and
want to go back to your original format.)
(You may get a pop up dialog warning you about
renaming
the file
and/or extension-ignore it and continue)

Cut this saved file and paste it into your RL Blair
website files
as
contact_us.htm.
Preview in your browser and click thru it. See how
you
like it.
If I've left anything out, let me know.
