I.E. can't print

H

Henry Jones

When I try to print using Internet Explorer 7, I get a message that says

Can't find file ///C:/Windows/Temp/Low/Tm23wsd4.htm Make sure the path or
Internet address is correct

This is from any web page. Checked the settings in the control panel, TMP
and TEMP both point to C:\Windows\Temp

You don't mention which version of Vista, but if it's RC1 then that's
a known problem. Printing works fine in RC2 and final versions.

You posted with WinXP. If the problem is on WinXP please see

In a newsreader:

On the web:

At the top of this e-mail it says: microsoft.public.windows.vista.general

I thought I was posting in the correct newsgroup.

You are for Vista, which you now posted with, but your first post used
Outlook Express in WinXP.

I have two PC's here. One with Vista and one with XP. I posted with XP
because I didn't have the Vista machine set up for newsgroups yet. Still
the problem was pertaining to Vista because I posted on the Vista site, but
the problem is fixed now. Don't know what happened, but I powered up the
computer again and IE decided it would print.

I was pretty happy with how easy it was to set the ng's. I think you'll
like it. Of course it still takes time to download the messages.

How did you set it up? I found "Microsoft Mail" and configured the
newsgroups, but it then asked me to login with my e-mail address and
password. ON XP using Outlook Express I don't have to do that

Just wondering, how did you know the original e-mail message was posted on
XP and not Vista?

Windows Mail already has Microsoft Communities set up when you first open
it. This adds the columns that are visible in the Web Communities interface
but not visible in OE. It even works most of the time.

If you don't mind those features and the slowdown they cause set up a new
news account for msnews.microsoft.com

Press Ctrl-F3 while viewing the message.

After right-clicking, you need to choose Properties before you get the
Details tab.

But also note that the easier way to see th emessage headers is to just to
press Ctrl-F3 on the original message.

You could add a /newsonly switch to the shortcut. That seems to
remove some of the dual-role confusion. Or use a better news client.

Details, details, details...
The devil is in the details.
You know, after doing something so many times it just becomes automatic.

Didn't know about Ctrl+F3, however.
Thank you.
