I have a big problem with my Windows XP and my ATI Radeon 9200SE. I have
installed the ATI Catalyst 4.2 drivers under Windows XP SP1 and everytime I
reboot Windows reset the resolution to 640x480@60Hz. I have to set manually
to 800x600@100Hz everytime and that's really annoying. I've tried the ATI
Control Panel to force it to set Windows to my desired resolution and
refresh rate and no luck with the resolution (I could set the refresh rate).
I also tried the Reforece utility and no luck either. I have uninstalled the
4.2 Catalyst drivers and removed all old traces with Driver Cleaner then
reinstalled ATI Catalyst 4.1 drivers and my problem is not solved.
Do I have to reinstall Windows XP again? My Sony CPD-E100P monitor supports
the 100Hz refresh rate at 800x600. I don't know what to do anymore to make
Windows save the resolution/refresh settings for good.
Please help me!

i had this happen to me once (i tend to just update drivers instead of
the whole clean thing...LOL). i installed the omega drivers and it
cleared everything up right away (based on the 4.1's). i have upgraded
to the 4.2's and all is still good
