I have outlook 2003 but i don't have in the tools menu the out of office
assistant! i tried creating a rule but when i get to the point where i have
to select a reply template i can't select a text document, only a *.oft
document.

What shall in do?

The Out of Office Assistant feature in Microsoft Outlook is a Microsoft Exchange
Server service. If you're not using this service, see this article for a
workaround:

How to emulate the Out of Office Assistant in Microsoft Outlook
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;311107

Keep in mind:
1) You must have your system running 24/7 and connected to the Internet.
2) You must configure Outlook to check mail automatically.
3) Spammers love this feature since it validates your e-mail address.

outlook) but the server through which my emails come is running?! the thing
is that i'm staying at home and i created a rule on my office computer to
forward all my messages here...

Sorry, but I can't help you with your second question. Hopefully someone else
will jump in with some advice. If not, start a new thread with an applicable
subject.

No it won't if the rule is created on your local computer. You need to get
your sysadmin to create a server-side rule to forward your mail if your
computer is switched off.
