I can't use mouse functions in Word Document - HELP!

All of a sudden, I can no longer use my mouse within a word doc. I can point
and click on tabs, and mouse works fine in all other apps. Inside the word
doc, I can not select text, move curser, etc. It doesn't recognize right or
left clicks. H E L P!

I had a bunch of microsoft offfice updates installed last night
automatically, All other applications work fine, including outlook editor ( I
use word), powerpoint and excel.
Tried to uninstall all updates - but the SP cant be de-installed or at least
i dont know how.
