i cant install games

i always usto play games but my cousin installed windows
xp or something so now like evertime i try to install a
game like the sims or counter strike it doesnt let me. it
gives me error messages like not enough virtual memory or
couldnt open because of something. so could anyone help?

Which games? They sound like old DOS based games actually..

When a game is a DOS game, it could work using compatibility mode:

With DOSBOX you can emulate a DOS computer on your XP desktop:
