i cannot see my volume control

i install the Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio from my dell cd but i
cannot find the volume control and now my sound recorder doesnt want to open
because it says that i need to install soundmax what to do?

Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio DEvices -> tick PLace volume icon in
taskbar.

Also check your devices - right click My Computer -> Properties ->
Hardware -> Device Manager -> do any of the devices have a "problem"
indicator beside them?

Check the web site for your sound hardware - have you got the latest
drivers?
