i can send but not receive emails

two to three days ago I could no longer recieve emails through Outlook.
After 36 hours it started working again, now it has stopped. I can still
send. error message is ox800ccc90

This exact thing happened to myself this week but has not corrected itself.

I noticed that when I send an email and check the Details as it is sending
it that Outlook does not undertake the receive emails function.

I contacted Sympatico Tech support and after several deleting of profiles
and starting over again I eventually got to a 2nd level tech support guy.
After about 1/2 hour with him - we still could not get it to receive emails.
We confirmed that test mails were sent. Even testing the account button
worked. His only solution was to use Outlook Express (which I would not
prefer to do) and to contact Microsoft Tech support (ya right!) to see if
they can find out what is wrong with Outlook 2003.

I tried to dig into this to see if it is a global problem or just mine -
except for ked's post - I didn't find much.

Any ideas on what is going on? I don't see any Windows Updates within the
last week so I can't believe it is something related to a recent update.

after googling the error number and reading the many and various solutions
offered, we deleted some of my emails from the web page. It worked, and the
rest have downloaded into outlook. I hope it lasts!
