Damn, I got one heck of a dirty monitor screen here ... :D

As most of you are aware I've been having a spot of bother with me eyes but I'm winning the fight. Not had anymore blood vessels acting up and the "fog" is all but gone.

So, at the suggestion of my specialist, I went and had me eyes re-tested at my optician ... this girl knows her stuff.

Well, some more good news too ... my eyesight has NOT deteriorated from my last visit 3 months ago as "some people" though may happen. No, I'm still half blind. :p :D

Got a prescription for dry eye, not surprising considering, and I got new glasses anyway. Did I say my optician is very good ? She suggested I have new glasses for two reasons really, was quite insistent in fact. One reason is, with my old "seeing" pair, the peripheral vision is impaired because of the size of the frames I chose ... secondly, I actually do not have a "real" pair of glasses for using a computer, been using an old pair of reading glasses. She told me off for that, but I ain't rich.

I tell you this, these things are brilliant ... I can see what I'm doing on me PC. Haven't had to use the CRTL + keys yet.

Anyway, must go find me spray can of Monitor cleaner. :thumb:

Excellent Mucks!

Does that mean I can type really small now? :p

Sounds like you should stick with that optician :thumb: My last one was quite rubbish indeed, so I'll be changing!

Vista uses lovely Vector drawing so the zoom look so smooth, which I guess is a good bonus too

Yep, I can read that ... :p

Was about time we had True vector scaling in Windows, but watch out for any desktop background pics of your own ... can't find the "tweak" at the moment but ... there is a slight "problem" with some wrongly sized jpeg. BMP's are fine.

The "fix/tweak" is in the use of right-click somewhere. :thumb:

Shame optics can't do anything about "floaters" yet. They annoy me.

Really good news about your sight Mucks, :thumb: so glad to hear that you've not suffered further deterioration. It's also great when you find a decent optician who knows their stuff, because correct specs make such a difference... I've just had to get a refund for two new pairs of specs, because I just couldn't see properly through the darned things, computer screen was a blur! Probably why I missed this post yesterday:) ...

The dry eyes must be uncomfortable, hope the prescrition will be helpful for that. May your peepers continue to peep efficiently for many a long year :D
