Hi,
I have 3 XP Pro machines on a network. The server machine (XP Pro machine
used as the internet connection on a dial up set up and ICS or the other 2
machines) can see both the other computers using all standard methods, e.g.
My network places and map network drive. And from those methods access is no
problem.
The other 2 machines can see each other using the same methods without any
problems but both of them can only see previously set up Mapped network
drives to the server machine. If I try looking in My network places the
shared folders are not visible. If I go up one stage to my network computers
the server machine can be seen but not accessed. I can ping the server
machine with no problems
Please, Why is this the case. ] I have tried changing the network hub but
there is no difference. I have waited overnight and also made sure that the
Computer Browser service is started as is NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
I am now completely stuck so any suggestions would be soooooo appreciated!
Cheers
