I can not logon to my computer

I hope someone can help.
Yesterday when I turned on my computer I found a new user account on the
logon window called ASPNET. Iy is my understanding that this user is created
after .Net 1.1 is loaded onto the computer. I have never had any success in
uploading .Net 1.1 in the past so I assume it was uploaded after the last
automatic update. Regardless, when I attempted to login under the Owner user
I was prompted for a password, I have never set a password. When I hit enter
with the password left blank I recieve a "Logon Message" that states, "The
local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively."

When I attempted to logon to my computer through Safe Mode I was still
prompted for a password. On Safe Mode logon page the users 'Administrator'
and 'ASPNET' are present. I attempted to logon as 'Administrator', but was
prompted for a password and the same problem as above occurred. I even reset
the Administrator password through BIOS and that had no effect. I am at a
loss as to how to resolve this issue. I literally can not get onto my
computer. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a HP Pavilion ze5300 and I run Windows XP Home Edition.

Regards,
TDL

If I do this, however, won't I lose all personal data on my computer? If
that is the case, that is unacceptable and I will probably look to get
another computer and find a way to recover the data.

Regards.

The BIOS password has nothing to do with the password for the built in
Administrator account in XP. Use this utility to reset the password for the
built in Administrator account. Then once you can login revisit windows
update and install the update to .Net framework 1.1.

Revisit Windows Update and install the update to .Net framework 1.1. That
should take care of the auto login change. Do know, though, that having a
strong password on all accounts is part of good security practices.

HI HAS ANYBODY ELSE GONE ON YOUR PC AND LOGGED IN MAYBE CHANGED THE PASSWORD
OR U DOWNLOADED UPDATES? TRY THE WINDOWS REINSTALLED DISK TO REPAIR WINDOWS
IT WONT LOSE YOUR DATA. I THINK ASPNET IS SOMTHING TO DO WITH LOGIN FRAMEWORK.

Kill the all caps. It's rude, shouting and hard to read.

Thanks for letting everyone know that you are up-to-date on the
subject of Internet etiquette, but your post did nothing to help the
OP.

You probably have more important things to do with your time than help
the occasional "offending" poster here, right?

Looking in the mirror are we? When do you ever post anything helpful? Get
lost. You're not even a good grump.
