I AM SO FRICKING MAD I WANT TO CHUCK THIS THING IN THE RIVER XP S

HI i have been working on trying to reinstall windows for the last 6 hrs I
have several xp pro disks that all have valid and legal product keys the
problem I have is that through the course of life they have become scratched
alittle here nd there not one of them will play all the way thru without
giving me the "cyclic redundancy" line so I thought that i would take parts
of each one that the others couldnt give me and make and burn one new cd with
all the right stuff... which I have done onlyroblem is that now apparently
the "manifest file does not begin with the required tag and format
information" I am 1/2 of the way into this installation and the installation
under it is toast ....question the 1/2 way thru set up was done with one of
the cyclic redundant cd' ...how can i get rid of this partial inStall and
start over?? WITH my new super cd and will it work or has bill gates done
something to each cd ' manifest because he was worried that he wouldn't be
able to shake every last dime out of us or that some one might steal
something that mixing and matching doesnt work and is there anywhere other
than a warez site that microioft might have to download with a valid key
another working copy?? that matches?

I will try to answer your questions as diplomatically as possible.

If you fail to take proper care of the discs in your possession, how is it
Bill Gates fault that your bumbling efforts to put together a "Super CD"
from a bunch on non-readable CDs?

Unless each of the CDs is exactly the same type (Retail, same vintage, etc),
then you cannot "mix and match" the files on them and expect to get a
working CD.

Do yourself a favor. Go out and buy a retail Windows XP disc of the flavor
you want. Bring it home, install it, and then *****PUT IT IN THE JEWEL CASE
IT CAME IN*****. When you are not actively using the disk ******LEAVE IT IN
THE JEWEL CASE IT CAME IN****.

In all truth, you have no one to blame but yourself for the predicament you
find yourself in. Take care of your discs, and they will be there for you
when you need them.

As for your "Super CD", I seriously doubt you are ever going to be able to
assemble a working disc. What you are attempting to do is a waste of time.

In as much as my dad has already paid for severalf these disks to continue to
ask him to throw more money at it would seem pointless. one of these cd's
has no discernable scratches in it at all. These cd' were purcased rt from
microsift and compared to alot of my audio cd's which look like they have
gone thru the war i can say that I make a better cd than microshaft. Anyway
as you read this I have resolved the problem and the installation is nearly
complete all done with the help of my friends at warez central (not the real
name)

Okay, let me get this straight...***YOU***damage the discs, blame Microsoft
because you cannot properly care for the things that your father spent his
hard earned dollars on, and then you go to a warez site and steal what you
need? You certainly are a sad excuse and a waste of oxygen that might be
used by a moral human being. Grow up. I hope that the new validation
process instituted by Microsoft catches your illegal version, and I also
hope you are one of the first ones prosecuted. You deserve it. Your
attitude truly sucks. You are to blame for the damaged discs. You cannot
blame anyone but yourself. Then you add theft and copyright violation to
it. If you were my child, the computer would be off limits to you until you
were 18 and out of the house. I hope the version you and your "friends"
downloaded is laden with spyware, trojans, keyloggers and time bombs. You
used the term "microshaft", yet the only one shafting anyone is you. You
are a petty thief and you sound like a spoiled little brat. Wipe your nose
and pay attention...One last question...does it hurt walking around with
that big "L" attached to your forehead?

Thieves like you are not welcome in this or any of the Microsoft hosted

you might consider asking dad to buy a cd cleaning kit.

or possibly asking a friendly neighborhood vides store if they will clean the disks for you for a fee.

You could go to Best Buy and get a CD repair kit. Explain to the folks
in the computer department what your problem is, and I'm sure they can help.

I've had severly scratched CDs in the past, and I've been able to repair
them to perfectly working order.

Try attaching your burner to the problem machine, and install

I have used this method before. And had good results

The laser on the bruner is normally more powerfull then a standar
CDROM drive
