i am confused

i had win im 4.7 with win xp did not like it could not leave off and turn on
when i wanted unless i let it sign in and then sign out .but i do like the
instant messaging when i want to and was getting caught off gaurd when i
though it was off and had other things to do online and did not want to seem
rude.plus i have dsl and it looks like i am online to buddies when i was not
even home.so i deleted it and was goingto install msn 6.0 is this the
program and can i use it for free and will shut off when i want it off or is
it the same as 4.7 with a few different features thanks.

you can eliminate that issue by unchecking the automatic sign in option in messenger . To do that ,you click tools in messenger , then options ,then preference - clear check box for automatic features you don't want . If I may suggest , use msn 6.1 messenger http://messenger.msn.com

i have installed 6.1 and it seems to be running fine and noticed that 4.7
got reinstalled .
