This does not happen always on the first install...
It may happen when you try to repair an install.. it keeps asking for the
installation cd... but in fact its asking to find the location of the files
you first installed it from...
Ah, at last we get a smidgen of content... the first post was all
attitude and zero tech detail at all. I skipped replying to that one.
I tried moving the installer files to various locations trying to remember
where I had installed from.. and after some time I got it..
however this trial and error process took time because you have to engage in
the install for it to fail so you can see that the location is wrong....
Basically its as crappy as vista is... how could such big errors slip
through to a final product?
Imagine a 100-line program written with the same attention to details
and accuracy as your posts. How good would that be?
Now imaging scaling up that quality to as large (bloated?) a system as
Vista. Do you think it would even boot?
