Hyperthreading is gone - Help.

Since upgrading the BIOS to P25 on my Intel 850EMV2 +
Pentium 4 3.06GHz computer, I have noticed that I have
lost hyperthreading (shows only one processor in Windows
Task Manager, while it used to show two), even though it
shows HT is enabled in the Setup.

What can I do to restore Hyperthreading?

Thanks

Greetings

You need to go and enable it in your BIOS. Windows doesnt have any settings
for HT, its all done in the BIOS.

Have you enabled the option to show multiple graphs for multiple CPUs in
Task Manager ??
(view ... CPU History ... One Graph Per CPU)

Sometimes BIOS updates will reset values to Factory Defaults. It
may be that HT is not enabled in BIOS. Also, in Device Manager
Expand the Computer category. It should read "ACPI Multiprocessor
PC". If not, then somehow Windows XP is no longer loading the
correct HAL for your install.

CPU History shows only one option (One graph per CPU) but
it's grayed out.

Device Manager shows two CPUs, and Computer shows ACPI
Multiprocessor PC.

CPU History shows only one option: One graph per CPU, but
it's grayed out. No other choice.

Device Manager shows two P4 3.06 CPUs, and Computer shows
ACPI Multiprocessor PC.

HT is enabled in setup.
