Hyperlinks on Frontpage 2000

Could someone help me with this problem.
I have uploaded a website onto a new domain name. There are a few links to
works documents that when opened are just a rambling of signs and letters.

I am also hosting this site on another address and these links are working
on there.

Would appreciate help on this thanks.

How would I go about that?
Would I have to contact the hosting company to confirm that?

I don't understand what to do. Where do I go to find this out?
It's all working in Frontpage, just when I upload it to the web

Ok,

You said it worked fine when published to 1 server, but didn't work on another server.
Correct?

So, contact the hosting company for the server that has the problem
and ask them to ensure that the mime type for the file is correct.

You said they were word files, so I assume they have the .doc file extension.

So, have the host check the mime type for the .doc file extension.

The OP said they were works documents, not word files (unless works was a typo)
- depends on the type of works documents ( but same thing applies about the host setting a mime type)
