Hyperlinks broken in Word 2003

After upgrading the company from Office 2000 to Office 2003 the hyperlinks to
other files on network drives in old Word documents are broken. None of the
file locations or paths have changed. Anyone have any clue as to why this
might have happened?

Thanks!

Hi Cheryl,

Can you be more specific? In what way are they broken?

Did you move documents or templates to a different location
when you upgraded?

Do you have the update links setting turned on or off in
Tools=>Options=>General=>Web Options?

Is the hyperlink correct using Alt+F9 to see the field codes?

Hi Bob,
Thanks for getting back to me. I went back to the user to get more detailed
information and found that she had Word set to save documents as a lower
version. Therefore it would not save documents in the new format and unable
to save the hyperlinks. Once I changed it to save with the current version
2003 it fixed the problem

Thanks again,
-CC
