Hyperlinks and Excel 2007

Guest

I've been making hyperlinks for web pages for years without issue. Now that I
have Excel 2007, I have not been able to open any new links (that I made
today) to new Excel 2007 (.xlsx) files. The old .xls files link just fine.
My browser is IE7. Any ideas?

Thanks,

The relevance is that I'm using FrontPage to make the hyperlink on a web
page. So, it's either an Internet or an IE7 issue. FrontPage is the closest
topic.

I also posted it on the Excel group but the only reply was that it worked
for the individual replying. I don't know if he is using IE7.

Have you tried the IE newsgroup, as it wouldn't be a FP related issue.

I'm guessing that it's an IE7 problem and since we don't have a newsgroup for
IE7, I thought this was the closest group.

Here's the code:
<a href="Training/Table.xlsx">Excel 2007 test</a>

I suspect that IE7 does not recognize the .xlsx extension.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Frontpage newsgroup isn't the closest group. It is totally unrelated.
There is a newsgroup for IE 7: microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

How about trying one of the IE newsgroups?
