Hyperlinks actions

I am using PowerPoint 2002 in Windows XP.

One of my PP slides has a hyperlink which when I click on it takes me to a
second PowerPoint presentation. Works fine.

But, even after the links starts up the second PowerPoint, the original PP
presentation (the one that has the hyperlink) continues to run in the
background. Is there a way to make that first originating PP presentation
stop and close itself once its hyperlink has sent me to the second one?
