Hyperlinked file does not open when sent via email

Hi

I have presentation with a hyperlink to a word document, resident on my
C: drive, and it needs to be sent as a pps via email to other users.

I tried to create a hyperlink using the insert hyperlink as well as the
action settings method. But in both these cases it seems to pick up the
absolute path instead of the relative path.

I send the word doc along with the ppt or pps, but still the
recipients, when they open the pps attachment and click on the
hyperlink get a error msg stating "cannot find the specified file"

Is there a way to accomplish this?

Put the Word file into the same folder as the PowerPoint presentation. then
make your hyperlink, and then send the whole thing via email.

Hi Michael,

I tried that, it does not work...... I send the ppt or the pps along
with the word file as an attachment, when the recipient opens the
attachement i.e the pps/ppt in outlook and then clicks on the hyperlink
it says "cannot find the specified file"

Best Regards,

It works for me. Does the recipient save his attachments to a folder and
then open the PowerPoint presentation

No, he opens it directly from outlook.......basically he double-clicks
on the pps attachment in outlook..
