Hyperlink To PPT needs to open in Power Point not IE Kiosk mode

Currently we have a few PPT files on our traing website. When our sales
staff clicks on a link the PPT opens up inside an istance of IE that is
running in Kiosk mode. I need to be able to have it so when they click on
the link it opens the PPT file in Power Point.
Any ideas?
