Hyperlink to Attachment Possible?

Although the hyperlink dialog in outlook 2003 is quite advanced, is it
possible to create a hyperlink (from within the message body text) that runs
one of the attachments already added to that same message?

Since many people like the convenience of clicking on the text they're
reading, I've been uploading the files to a web server so far so that I can
hyperlink them :p

No, that's not possible. Why? Because Outlook has to save the file to the
hard drive first.

No, but having the files on a webserver is a much better solution if you ask
me. It keeps the mailbox small and people wil always work with te most
current documents ;-)

Sue,

What if the attachment is another email message? (i.e. An ".msg" within an
email?) I can successfully drill down to my email attachment within a string
of subfolders(Outlook://Folder/Subfolder/~EmailItemName), but unable to drill
down into the original email contained 'within' the email
(Outlook://Folder/Subfolder/~EmailItemName/~EmailItemName OR
/~EmailItemName.Msg OR /~EmailItemName.Xnk etc).
Is this possible?

Not without writing code to extract the attachment as a file first.

I did find a trick from KC Lemson at Microsoft for Triv's original question.
If WordMail is the email editor, create a hyperlink to the name of the
attachment. For example, if the attachment is named foo.txt, highlight it,
click Ctrl+K, and enter foo.txt as the link.
