Hyperlink Not working

Guest

I am using FP 2003. I recreated my Hyperlinks by creating a table at the top
of the page. I am doing this on my PC, not on my actual URL. I created one
row and a column for every page I need.
I selcted the hyperlink properties on each column to point to the correct
page.
When I am in design mode, and click Ctrl+Click, the page comes up. But when
I go in preview mode and click on the column, nothing happends.
I also tried Peview in Browser and it still doesn't take me to the page.
Any idea what the problem could be???

Yes here is the generated code:

<body>
<div align="left">
<table border="1" width="40%" cellpadding="2" bgcolor="#C0C0C0"
style="border-color: #FFFFFF">
<tr>
<td bgcolor="#C0C0C0"><a href="index.htm">Home</a></td>
<td><a href="Products.htm">Products</a></td>
<td width="50%"><a href="PressRelease.htm">Press_Release </a></td>
<td><a href="comm.htm">Communications</a></td>
<td><a href="EDITransactions.htm">EDI_Transactions</a></td>
<td width="60"><a href="services.htm">Services</a></td>
<td><a href="contact.htm">Contact_Us</a></td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
<p> </p>

Not sure what you mean by "generated code" unless you mean that created in hyperlink
properties.

However, Make sure the CaSe is correct for your file names.
Also, did you create the links by browsing to the files using the hyperlink dialog??
You should so that FrontPage can account for the actual file location and create the
proper link.

One thing you might try first is Tools > Recalculate Hyperlinks.

Yes, I meant the hyperlink generated code.
Yes these links were created by browsing the files using the hyperlink
dialog, selecting the page, and then clicking OK.
I also tried Recalculate Hyperlinks.
I did notice that my hit counter is also not working even wnen I am in
Preview in Browswer.
I have not changed this and it is working on my URL.
Could the problem be because the project is on my hard drive and not on the
web?
I'd hate to have to publish it only to find out it's still not working.

1. You create your hyperlink you must have a web / site open in FP first.

2. Hit counters, etc. must be tested via a web server (http) that has the FP extensions and the site
was published to the server via http.

So are you saying the only way I can test this is to publish it first?
How else would I open my web site?
I am opening the web site on my PC drive.

Some users open a page and not the web / site first which create problem with links.

To test a site that uses any FP run-time components, the site must be publish to a server that has
the FP extensions via FP's http mode before these component can be functional.

Ron.
Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with
Expression Web Designer and SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

Then also clear your browser temporary internet, history and cookie files.

Then open FP and your web and check.

See if it helps.

I tried to start a new question but the screen just kept refreshing.
I have Popups OK set.

Anyways, I am trying to publish my web site from my PC drive to my URL.
I have already signed on to my URL.
When I try to publish, I receive message that some files are in conflict, I
press 'OK to Overwrite files'.
Then I receive message 'System Exception: Access Violation' and it stops
publishing.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

I ran Detect & Repair and still got the same error.
I am able to publish from my URL to a PC folder but can't publish from a PC
folder to my URL.
Should I try copying and pasting all the files?

Not only did the detect & repair not fix anything, now Windows Installer
launches whenever I receive emails in MS Outlook or Open a Word document. I
don't know if FP Clean caused this problem.
Is there a way to fix this?
I ran my antivirus software and no viruses were found.

The publishing problem is resolved.
I contacted microsoft.
It turns out the site I was publishing from had more data then was allowed
by my URL host.
