Hyperlink - e-mail current document

Hello
I would like to know if it's possible to have a hyperlink save the current
document, then send it as an attachment to an e-mail address. (If it's not
possible to save first that is fine, I can put a 'Please save before
clicking' line on the document or something).

I have been able to use the basic hyperlink to just create a new e-mail
message to the specified address, but I cannot figure out how to insert the
current doc as an attachment in that message.

No, but a macrobutton or custom toolbar button would achieve that for
you.
