Hi,

i have made a hyperlink in an access 97 form, but on one pc that
hyperlink does not work. You can click on it, but nothing actually
happens.
The strange thing is that, when i convert the access 97 database into
access 2000, the link does work.
And the link also works on another pc in the access 97 version.
Strange, isn't it?
It doesn't matter whether the hyperlink links to a website or to a
folder on my c-drive.

Does anybody have any ideas? I reinstalled access 97 but that didn't
help...

Thanks,
Regards
Marc S

You don't say which type of hyperlink is not working. The default protocol
type: http should work fine, for email, you'll need to use "mailto:",
without the quotes, immediately before your email address.

Eg : I make a label in a form, and the property "hyperlink" points to
c:\test.doc
The link gets underlined in the form, recognizing that it is an
hyperlink. When I put my mousecursor over it, i can see the address in
the bar below. I even get a hand icon when I put my cursor over it. But
when I click it, nothing happens.
When I convert the database to access 2000, the link works fine and on
another pc the link also works within access 97. So I don't think I did
something wrong with the hyperlink itself. It seems to me that it's an
Access 97 feature or something to disable clicking on hyperlinks.

It seems to have been a windows profile problem.
Once i used another profile it worked again. Don't know what caused it,
must have been a registry entry in my profile...
