HXDL.exe error message

PLEASE HELP! My computer keeps displaying a program error
message: "HXDL.exe has generated errors and will be closed
by windows. You will need to restart the program." This
message appears about every 3-5 minutes and I can do
nothing until I tap the "Cancel" button or wait about 40
seconds and have the option of tapping on the "OK" button.
Then everything is fine for about 3 minutes. Anyone know
how a user (unfortunately I am not a computer geek) can
fix this problem. It is really hurting my work. THANK YOU.
