Does anyone know why whenever I do as Google, Yahoo or
any search engine query this search engine opens on top
and once it starts it multiplies.

The first time I do a search it will open one of the
these on top of my Google search. Next time it will open
two or more and they just keep multiplying. Is it a
virus or if not, how do I turn the darn thing off.

It's more likely spyware or adware. I'd suggest using AdAware from
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ and/or Spybot Search&Destroy from
http://www.spybot.info/ to scan and clean your system.
