http email automatically moved to .pst inbox

I have used Outlook since Outlook 97 was introduced. I always used POP3 mail.
I have recently started DSL service which provides MSN mail, which is HTTP.
So, I'm forced to change.

After setting up Outlook 2003 for HTTP mail for use with MSN, Outlook
created a new folder called MSN with an inbox. All my email goes into this
inbox. I want my email to go into my Personal Folders Inbox.

Also, setting up for HTTP created a second Personal Folder which is a
duplicate of my original. The instructions I found explaining how to delete
the duplicate Personal Folder don't work.

So, can anyone tell me how to set up Outlook 2003 to put my HTTP mail in my
Personal Folder Inbox automatically? I don't want to create a rule to do this
unless I have to.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the duplicated Personal Folder?

Thanks,

Gary

Not necessarily. Since you are paying for MSN mail (through your ISP), you
should still be able to use a POP account.

That's the way HTTP accounts work. They have their own Inbox, which remains
on the HTTP server.

I don't think it's a duplicate of your original, in that it doesn't contain
the same data. It may contain some of the same folder names, however.

Because it's not really a duplicate.

Thanks for the reply.

Actually, I was successfully using pop3 via my dsl for the msn email.
However, I travel a lot for work. In a hotel, using an ISP other than my dsl,
pop3 mail would not work. According to a techy for msn mail, he said I had to
use http.

At first, my http email would automatically be moved into my .pst inbox.
Then, when I delelted the origanl pops email account msn the auto-move
stopped. I have not been able to get it to work again.

Finally, my duplicated pst really IS a duplicate. All the folders and data
are identical.

Any other help would be appreciated.

If you get an MSN subscription as part of your DSL service, you should be
able to use that anywhere. For example, I have a paid Yahoo! account as
part of my DSL subscription. I can go anywhere and, as long as I can access
the internet, no matter what ISP supplies that connection, I can still
reference the smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com and pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com servers.
I just have to properly authenticate.

I don't know how to address this.

If you can't remove it with right-click>Close or FIle>Data File Management,
select, Remove, then you'll need to create a new mail profile with Control
Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add.
