HTML message format - font

hello,

my system: ms Outlook 2003 SP-1; default message format is "plain text"

my problem:
I create a new message - message format is "plain text - I change to HTML -
write text - font is "Arial" - this is ok
I create a new message - message format is "plain text" - I write text -
change to HTML - write text again - font is "Times New Roman" - this is not ok

does this work right? where can I change the font?

This is normal, if weird behavior. I have never found any way to alter it.
