.htm file extension showing in link bar

I'm using fp 2002 (Win XP) and trying to 'build' my first website. I have
finished all my pages and applied a Theme. All internal and external
hyper-links are working fine (both in 'Normal' and 'Preview' modes), but when
I tried to do a link bar the .htm file extension appeared after all the page
names on the links. I hope this isn't normal and, if not, then what am I
doing wrong? Thanks.

I believe the link bar link names come from the page titles (e.g.
<title>Home Page</title>....so "Home Page" will be the title of the link in
the link bar. Currently, I'm guessing your page titles are like
<title>pagename.htm</title> or something.....

If you want these titles reflected as the link names, page titles need to be
changed for each page.

In the GUI, resave each page, and type in a new page title in the Page Title
field in the Save As dialogue box. You may have to click a button "Change
Title...." to do this (I'm using this procedure from Expression Web; but it
should be very similar for Frontpage).

This is just a guess, but I'm pretty sure this could be the problem.

Thanks to both of you. I really appreciate your responses. I decided to
walk away from the computer for a couple of days, which I did. Once I got
back to it, with a fresher mind, I found my mistake and renamed the pages.
That's what comes from burning myself out and developing 'brain-freeze'!
Thanks, again.
