HP psc 1350 - failure to start windows

Ivan

I recently installed HP psc 1350. With the device plugged
into the USB port Windows XP will not start. A black
screen with a blinking cursor is the only thing visible.
Unplugging the device after this happens does not remedy
the situation, the computer must be rebooted. Device
works properly if plugged in after windows has finished
loading. What causes this? How can I fix it?

You must disable USB Emulation in your system bios setup.
Change the setting to OFF. You will not be able to use any
other USB device in DOS based applications, but this is
how you fix this problem.
