HP Printer issue

Guest

I have an HP OfficeJet 7310, laptop with Windows Vista Business and am using
it over a peer to peer network. It's worked fine until recently when the
printer icon has disappeared from the printers folder. The printer is a
all-in-one and the HP OfficeJet 7310 series fax printer is still there. It's
happened on 2 different computers, both using Windows Vista Business version,
32 bit. Has there been a driver update that could have caused this problem?

There is an System Event ID 3 that the printer was deleted. If it happened
on only one system, I would say it is user error, but it happened on 2
different systems.

Any ideas?

Thanks Alan. I uninistalled all the HP software, reinstalled the
application. It found the network printer OK and then I disabled the HP CUE
Discovery service. I'll let you know weekly if it works.

If the HP CUE Discovery software is running, the printer will be deleted if
the network status changes. Disabling the service has worked for others.

HP contacted me on this one. I think they are interested in determining the
true cause of this issue.

I have just had same problem with HP C6180 - all working fine until suddenly
it disappears. I can browse to the printer admin pages but Windows cannot
find printer on network and HP solution center states that no HP devices
detected.

I'll try disabling the CUE service - did this work for you?

running Vista Ultimate with hp 4.42.0.0 version

Thanks
Paul

drivers that have
the same issue onto Windows Update.

In the meantime the HP driver developer who determined the issue told
me I
could hand out the fix
mail me directly since I can't send the file using outlook.

I've been having the same problem with my hp 7310. Tried HP's tech
support, but did not have an answer for me. Can you please let me know
what the fix is for this problem?

Andrew Rossmann

Would he know an email address that would actually reach you?

Read the e-mail very carefully. His name is alanmo, and he works at
microsoft. Put 2&2 together and figure out the address.

I was addressing Mike not Alan.

mike h <mike (e-mail address removed)> is not a valid address is it?
And Mike asks for an email reply.
