Pease help! I need the installation disk for my HP Photosmart 1215
printer (mine was lost). Here's what the printer looks like:

What do you need? Most of the drivers and other software can be downloaded
from

Installing the driver will get this thing printing again for me? All I
know is that my dad couldn't find the disk for reinstalling this
printer on his own computer. So he gave it to me and bought himself a
new one. That would be great if I can get it working again.....of
course he'll probably want it back!

Probably. Which operating system are you using? If you have XP, Vista or
Mac you should not have trouble. If you are running Windows 98 the drivers
will be a bit harder to find.

Actually, I'm still building the computer. I've installed a Gigabyte
M61P-S3 motherboard in an old Dell Precision 420 workstation (circa
1999).

Hard Drive: 250GB Western Digital Sata II.
Memory: Dual DDR2's (total 4GB)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 (5600+)
Graphics card: ATI VisionTek X1550
CD Rom: "LG" GSA-H42L (super multi CD/DVD rewriter)
The operating system will be Linux KDE with the NTFS-3G file system
and win2000 theme (as if you couldn't tell by my tower, I like the
"old school" look). Hopefully, by Monday I can start programming
everything. Right now I'm just connecting all the plugs. This is my
first build.

So, if you want to use Linux, why are you looking for the driver-CD? All you
need can be found at http://hplip.sourceforge.net/
Depending on the distribution you're going to use the drivers will already
be included.
