HP LaserJet 4200 Tray Configuration ???

Is there a utility or way I can push a tray configuration down to our
1800 network connected HP LaserJet 4200 printers. I want to use HP Web
JetAdmin to update the firmware and lock the Control Panel but first
need to set the tray configuration. I only see the ability to manually
configure the trays per printer.

I was looking at PCL code but don't understand how to push the PCL code
to the machines. We have Windows XP workstations.
Thanks

You can use Web JetAdmin to do that too. You don't need the very latest
version (7.8 is current) but at least V7.0 should be OK. You can do this
for a single device or for a group of devices. You can configure the
trays for size or type (e.g. A4 or Letter for size, maybe recycled or
plain for type). Apply the settings and the device(s) is/are configured.
You can then lock the control panel.

If you need further information then the manual is available from HP's
web site.

Just had a look. Check here for white papers explaining teh techniques
you need to use:

Here are some specific ones that might help:

Groups in HP Web Jetadmin
Discusses the benefits of creating smaller subsets of devices, or
groups, for better organization and ease of management of devices.

Fleet Configuration in HP Web Jetadmin
Discusses how to perform fleet configurations of devices in HP Web
Jetadmin using several time saving techniques.

Hope this helps.

I have looked at all these docs. I put my printers in a group but
don't see the trays in the Multiple Device Configuration window.
Importing and exporting of settings does not appear to contain tray
settings in Web JetAdmin 7.8.3083.

Am I missing something?

I can open an individual HP LaserJet 4200 and go to Configuration >
Tray Administration and configure each one individually but I have 1800
printers of this model.

Thanks
